Handwritten letter from O. Henry to Gilman Hall. Black ink and blue pencil on paper. Dated "Monday," and addressed to "Mr. Gilman Hall / Dear Bill." O. Henry writes to say that the story will be sent in on Wednesday. He asks for $150.00 for "today," as a check (for $100) and in cash ($50). He remarks that "my friend wants some, and so do I," that he wanted Hall to call him upon receipt of the letter, and that he did not want to mention this on the phone because "all the people in the house hear it." Signed "Sydney Porter."
