Brenda King talks about her childhood in Austin, Texas growing up African American in the 1950s-70s, and her experiences with segregation, desegregation, and racism. She also discusses her adulthood in north Austin, after living away for some years, and the changes she has seen in east Austin in terms of gentrification. This interview is part of an oral history project, Conversations to Create Unity, conducted by the Susanna Dickinson Museum and funded by Baylor University's Institute of Oral History.
